The Famous Cold Foam Topper
Greece's national coffee drink, the Freddo Cappuccino is an iced espresso blended like you would a Greek Frappe and then topped with a cold milk or sweet cream foam topper.
The worlds biggest coffee house chain which had to conform to Greece's coffee culture in order to survive in the country discovered one of the most refreshing summer coffee drink add-on's. The crown jewel for Starbucks summer menu in Greece was the Freddo Cappuccino with its cold topper which didn't exist anywhere but in Greece. It also spread to Cyprus and Southern Italy but Starbucks saw a great opportunity and incorporated it into its summer menu world wide.
